Dying flowers
An unmade bed
A closet full of summer clothes
That keep you near to me
And when I'm stuck
In this unholy place
I picture you in my holy sweater
Peaking through
And nothings real when I'm around you
When I fade away
You bring me back to the surface
And when I go I'll be just one call away from you
We're never truly apart
I'm always one call away from you
Endless hours
Working late
I count the time until you return
And my day starts again
Hopeless lovers
We never choose
There's nothing outside this place
That's more than here with you
And nothings real when I'm around you
When I fade away
You bring me back to the surface
And when I go I'll be just one call away from you
We're never truly apart
I'm always one call away from you
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
