Well I don't mind the end you surely hold
Cause I already know
About the threats you pose
But this time
I know what it's like to be used
I'll just throw you away
Burning out at last I say
This time I quit
A weakened flame closes in on you
Only familiar shame
Can come from meeting you
No more will I ever call your name
As the withdrawal takes my breath
I hold onto what's left of you and I inhale
You already know, so just let go
(You know what is coming next)

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
