Today the sun leaks through
The fabric covering my eyes
Shining on my face
Reminds me what I'm missing
But it's you I think of
I check my phone to see
If anyones still out there
An unfamiliar face
Sanders around this town
Sut It's you I think of
And it's me
Sinking further away from you
Into the sea, can't you help me
And what if everything
The old and new
Dissolves with you
And what if everything
I worked towards
Dissolves into nothing
Another piece of me
Slips away before my eyes
Everyone I know sleeps while I'm awake
Is it me they dream of?
Or are they just sinking further
Away from me silently
Will they wait for me?
And what if everything
The old and new
Dissolves with you
And what if everything
I worked towards
Dissolves into nothing

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
