Dark red painted lips
Won't you walk me home
Look me in the eyes and tell me
That you don't care about
The things I say or anything I do
I hope you know
I don't want to dream anymore
It makes it harder to live
I don't want to dream anymore
It makes it harder to live with it
Tonight the wind it sings
Another lonely song
Can't make out the words
It haunts me
And in this bar I am
Alone and I'm alive for just one night
But when I'm home
I don't want to dream anymore
It makes it harder to live
I don't want to dream anymore
It makes it harder to live with it
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
